TO LEARN, TO VALUE, TO DO!
ללמוד, להעריך, לעשות
Do you Moodle? We do.
-
Students have an interactive Moodle site to discuss their interpretations of Torah texts.
-
Eighth graders have a site to talk about their expectations for the Israel trip.
Students and teachers also create podcasts, and imovies.
-
Teachers often record stories on line for students to listen to while doing their own reading. In this way, their learning is supported and they can compare their pronunciation and expression with that of the teacher. Click here to hear an example.
-
Teachers record songs and tefilot that their students are learning so they can listen and sing along. This also serves as a tool for parents to learn school tunes and be able to join in the fun when they attend school seders, shabbat lunch, and other events.
-
Student imovies as a means to create their own modern interpretations of the Torah.
The Jewish Studies Department incorporates the use of interactive DVDs to enter the world of Jewish history, and Hebrew software to reinforce and enliven language learning.
Technology plays a significant role in faculty and student life and can be seen in every sphere of learning. The Jewish studies faculty participates in special training sessions with experts in the Technology department. These sessions give the faculty the tools to enhance the range of strategies they use in the classroom and beyond.
Stay tuned, because this year we are hoping to provide a daily broadcast from Israel to report the adventures of the eighth graders as they tour the country from the the Golan to Eilat!
