JS: SPECIAL PROGRAMS

TO LEARN, TO VALUE, TO DO!

ללמוד, להעריך, לעשות

Jewish life special programs are designed to emphasize the core values that we teach and that we hope our students will internalize and make their own. They also give members of our school community an opportunity to perform the values that we cherish.

The following activities occur each year:

  • Senior Kindergarten – The Dayenu Family Seder & SK Bikurim Celebration

  • 1st Grade – Mi Ohev et Ha-Shabbat? Who loves Shabbat? A Family Program

  • 2nd Grade – A Family Tu B’Shevat: Seeds, Soil, and Song!

  • 3rd Grade – L’cha Dodi - Let’s Welcome Shabbat with Friday Night Service
    and Family Dinner

  • 4th Grade – “Standing at Sinai Again” Celebration to Receive the Torah

  • 5th Grade – “25 (Hours)” The Fifth Grade Shabbaton

  • 6th Grade - Wholly Havdalah!

  • 7th Grade – Supper in the Sukkah – A Community Harvest

  • 8th Grade – Shabbat in the City

Each grade level has a special event that centers on a Jewish experience. In Lower School, families come together to learn about and experience Shabbat and holidays, and to celebrate moments connected to milestones in their child’s life as a student.

Middle School events give students an opportunity to form a Jewish community as young adolescents, shaped by their values, their interests, and their sensibilities.

Actions speak louder than words! -
לא המדרש העקר אלא המעשה
