A complex contraption was recently designed, assembled, and successfully “launched” by Ms. Deitz’s advanced, accelerated 7th grade math class.
The overarching goal of this project was for students taking an Algebra 1 course to begin to understand the “bigger picture” of algebraic reasoning as being made up of several small parts (skills and concepts) that, when combined in just the right way, often produce an outcome far greater than the sum of its individual pieces.
The students are responsible for every aspect of what you see in the video, from start to finish. They also are to be credited with the filming and creation of the video itself.
